‘Nokia Battery Monitor’ is nice little app for your Symbian touch phones, which shows the battery charge level with estimates of remaining usage time and charging time. ‘Nokia Battery Monitor’ is developed by Nokia & VTT Technical Research Center in Finland.

Nokia Battery Monitor app runs in background and gather battery consumption data, beside this it’s very light on system resource. We find it as a must have app for mobile phones now days, App also support homescreen widget, visualizes the remaining energy of the battery and shows an estimate of the overall remaining usage time based on usage history in color-coded bar.

App also gives estimate usage of the device in four categories  :

• Active Use : shows the remaining overall usage time of the device. The estimate is based on the usage history and accuracy of the estimate will increase over time (several days).
• Talk Time : shows the remaining usage time for voice calls. Estimate is based on power measurements from the device and accuracy can depend on external conditions like signal strength variations.
• Web Browsing : shows the remaining usage time for web browsing based on power measurements.
• Music Palback : shows the remaining MP3 playback time with the music player based on power measurements.

And all of these categories can also be selected to set on device homescreen as widget, Just double tap to activate.

Nokia Battery Monitor monitors energy consumption, divided into nine colour coded usage categories:

• Talk
• Home screen
• Gallery
• Web browsing
• Messaging
• Camera
• Music playback
• GPS
• Other

The app runs in background gathering consumption usage of each of these categories and show color-coded usage report over its Statistics tab. The Statistics shows the distribution of overall and daily energy consumption in detail, further the Statistics is divided in two parts showing Overall Energy Distribution & Daily Energy Distribution in percentage.

Overall Energy Distribution: shows the total energy usage distribution for all activities.

Daily Energy Distribution : shows how energy has been consumed on each weekday during active device use. The distribution is cumulative. For example, the distribution for Friday shows relative energy consumption of activities for all past Fridays.

You can change the colour theme of the application and widget from ‘Options’ menu. Two themes are provided: Light and Dark. We recommend Dark theme for devices with OLED displays (like Nokia N8) due to lower power consumption. The app is available for all Symbian^1 (S60 v5) and Symbian^3 touch phones Free over Ovi Store!

Note: - Nokia Battery Monitor cannot be used simultaneously with Nokia Energy Profiler. In order to use Nokia Energy Profiler you need to uninstall Nokia Battery Monitor
