Microsoft Silverlight Beta comes to Symbian^1


Thanks to Nokiausers for the news, Microsoft’s Silverlight (Beta) is now available for Symbian^1 devices, Empowering developers with required tools to create rich interactive web applications for Symbian^1 devices.

Silverlight, a cross-browser, cross-platform implementation of the .NET Framework for building media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web on desktop computers, Silverlight beta contains an installer for Symbian^1 devices and developer tools for developing Silverlight applications on Nokia Symbian^1 (S60 5th Edition) mobile devices.”

Silverlight includes a runtime that is optimized to display content on memory-constrained devices. Silverlight support for Nokia S60 5th Edition devices includes:

  • The ability to view Silverlight applications in the mobile browser.
  • Tools to build Silverlight applications that target devices.
