Nokia launches Dual SIM devices C1 and C2 in India


Nokia unveiled its much awaited 2-in-1 Dual SIM phones in India – the Nokia C1 (C1-00) and Nokia C2 (C2-00).

It looks like, Nokia is catching up the Indian mobile market need and is trying to cover up emerging market of Dual SIM Mobiles in developing country like India.

Unveiling the new devices, Mary McDowell, Executive Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia said: “Nokia has launched these two devices that offer multiple SIM capabilities with a balanced feature set and ‘relevant innovations’ at affordable price points.

The C1-00 and C2-00 support usage of multiple SIM cards. Nokia C1 supports only one active SIM at a time, where Nokia C2 supports Dual SIM with dual standby means both SIM remains active all the time. Nokia C1 features ‘Call Divert’ function, which will ensure that you never miss a call from either of the two SIMs. Moreover, by simply holding down a key, Nokia C1 users will be able to switch between the two SIM cards in the device.

Nokia also clams that Nokia C1 has the longest Standby battery life of 6 weeks, the longest ever for a Nokia mobile phone, and is useful especially in those parts of the India like small villages where access to electricity is  limited. The C1 also features  a flashlight , color display , FM radio with standard headphone jack.

Where Nokia C2 looks a bit advance: Features – Color Display, VGA Camera, Bluetooth, Music Player, 32 GB of  Micro SD card support, Ovi Life Tools, Ovi Mail and Chat, FM Radio. The Nokia C1 will be available first in Indian market at an MRP of Rs 1999/- and will be the first Nokia mobile phone to feature a 2-in-1 SIM solution. Where Nokia C2-00 price is not reviled yet but its expected to fall in between MRP of Rs 2500/-.
