We have already seen Android 4 “Ice Cream Sandwich” running on Nokia N900 under project NITDroid , Well here is another interesting one, some modders successfully ported entire webOS to the Nokia N900, check out the video after break.

Qt based Free Twitter client “TwimGo” updated to v3.0, Adds support for MeeGo devices!

Clean and simple Qt based free Twitter client TwimGo updated to version 3.0. The update brings minor fixes, UI enhancement and support for MeeGo devices.

Video: MeeToDo – To-Do app for MeeGo, Maemo and Symbian

App guru Tommi Laukkanen is working on new Qt app called “MeeToDo”, a simple to-do application for getting things done. He released a very early alpha version of the app for MeeGo, Maemo and Symbian device with minimal set of features. App demo and download link after break.

“So, here is the first alpha version of the to-do / GTD app called MeeToDo. It currently has minimal set of features: Lists and tasks. User can add new tasks pretty fast and can mark them done with a single tap. There is also a “purge” features which I find handy e.g. doing grocery shopping. Some of the future ideas include Google Tasks integration.”

Kasvopus : New Qt Facebook app for Maemo 5 and Symbian^3, MeeGo soon!

Kasvopus is Qt based Facebook client for Maemo, MeeGo and Symbian^3 devices developed by Tommi Laukkanen. The app is written in Qt Quick, QML and is in beta stage, currently supporting some basic features like news feed browsing, sharing status, liking and commenting of statuses. Check out the app demo after break.

Kasvopus currently is in it’s beta stage and available for Symbian^3 and Maemo 5 devices. Meego version will soon be added.

Firefox 4 Beta 4 released for Nokia N900

Quick heads-up, Today Mozilla team released latest Firefox 4 beta 4 for Android and Maemo devices. The update brings faster start-up, improved page load times and with reduced Memory and CPU usage browser is now more responsive and stable.

Firefox 4 beta mobile is built on the same technology platform as Firefox 4 for desktop computers, Check out the update summary below.

There are now over 100 add-ons for Firefox for Mobile, and counting.
Startup speed has improved visibly. This was a top request from Beta 3 users.
JavaScript is much faster – almost 15% performance improvement in Beta 4 compared to Beta 3.
Memory and CPU usage is reduced, making the browser more responsive and stable.
Improved user interface for easy connection with desktop Firefox.
Added an option to resize text to fit the screen when you double-tap to zoom in, to optimize the reading experience. This feature can be activated in the Firefox preferences.
Many miscellaneous bug fixes, usability improvements, and optimizations for a better experience.

We have already talked about the ‘TwimGo’, It’s a clean and simple WRT based Twitter client available for Symbian smartphones, formerly released for Maemo devices. Now it has been rewritten using Qt with some major improvements. Check out the video demo!

Currently we don’t have any words from the developer by Tommi Luakkanen @tlaukkanen, But it looks like that the Qt based client should be available to Maemo, MeeGo and Symbian devices in the near future.
