We have earlier told you that following-up the huge demand for WhatsApp client for N9, Maemo/Meego community is working-up to port the app for Nokia N9 smartphone. Despite of huge support from the petition with over 8,000 signatures, Whatsapp team is silent on developing their client for MeeGo platform. Now the good news, the vibrant Maemo/Meego community is working on an unofficial WhatsApp for Nokia N9 and N900, releasing first beta next week.

Nokia N900 seems to be most popular smartphone among hackers and modders. We have already seen many N900 moddings, take the example of Brain Scanner, installing webOS and Ice Cream Sandwich, Well here is the craziest one – a Polish hacker Emeryth created a thumb-friendly gamepad to enjoy hours of gameplay, also the gamepad some how dock into the N900 keyboard and connects to the device via the MicroUSB port, check out the video after break.
