Well, as you already know Nokia is continuously evolving. Today Pino over Ovi Blog posted about the closing of Ovi Blog as a process of Nokia’s re-branding from Ovi to Nokia. And Surya welcomes the brand new Nokia Maps Blog, where she is going to share news related to Nokia mapping services .

“Don’t cry for me Argentina… Ehm, ok, I got a bit carried away but I’m probably allowed to be a bit emotional Especially because this is definitively my most difficult post. And, OMG they’re more than 150!

You should all know by now that Nokia made a decision to change our service branding from Ovi to Nokia. The main reason for this change is so we can leverage the high-value of the Nokia master brand to better support future plans to deliver disruptive and compelling mobile experiences globally.”

Nokia is going through the process of re-branding from Ovi to Nokia on its various channels, as announced back in May 2011. Today, Nokia redirects its Ovi.com web portal to Nokia Maps, as a part of this rebranding exercise, giving a refreshing look and great new features to Nokia Maps.

From now Nokia Maps becomes the landing page for Nokia Services where you can either explore Maps, or access Nokia App Store, Mail, Music or Contacts services.

“ Nokia Maps, one of the first Ovi services to switch to Nokia brand, now has a refreshed look and feel, faster loading, more detailed place pages and a host of new features like public transport routing, live traffic flow and more that are now available for our users.

Today, we are redirecting the ovi.com web page to Nokia Maps, as a part of the rebranding exercise. Why to Nokia Maps? Because as you may know, Nokia’s Location strategy plays a major part in our future plans and is a key part of our collaboration with Microsoft. Once you land on the page, you can either explore Maps, or can navigate to access your Store, Mail, Music or Contacts as usual.”
