Ovi.com Redirects to Nokia Maps — A new portal to Nokia Services!

Nokia is going through the process of re-branding from Ovi to Nokia on its various channelsas announced back in May 2011. Today, Nokia redirects its Ovi.com web portal to Nokia Maps, as a part of this rebranding exercise, giving a refreshing look and great new features to Nokia Maps.

Nokia Rebrands “Ovi Music Store” to “Nokia Music Store”

As posted earlier, Nokia has already started the re-branding process through-out its Ovi Services, as announced back in May 2011. After the app store the re-branding process has just started over music store – the  ”Ovi” logo and site title of  music store (web) has been replaced/updated with ”Nokia” brand.

“Meltemi” is Real – Linux based replacement for Nokia S40 platform!

Remember about a week back Wall Street Journal leaked a news that Nokia is working on a new Linux based open-source OS  project codenamed - “Meltemi” as replacement for its Series 40 platform. Well it looks like “Meltemi” exists.

Nokia completes the transaction of Symbian software development and support activities to Accenture

Back in June 22, 2011 Nokia signed a strategic collaboration with Accenture for Symbian-based software development and support services. Today Nokia announces that it has completed the transaction to outsource its Symbian software development and support activities to Accenture.

“Meltemi” Linux based open-source OS for Low-End Nokia Phones?

Well, as you know MeeGo has been already swallowed up in the new Tizen project lead by Intel and Samsung, Here is another scoop- WSJ has revealed that Nokia is now working on a new Linux based open-source OS for its low-end handsets, codenamed “Meltemi”.

Nokia to cut 3500 more Jobs, Closes Romania Factory

The mobile giant Nokia today announced that it will cut around 3,500 jobs in its manufacturing and will close its manufacturing facility in Cluj, Romania by the end of year 2011.
