Nokia completes the transaction of Symbian software development and support activities to Accenture

Back in June 22, 2011 Nokia signed a strategic collaboration with Accenture for Symbian-based software development and support services. Today Nokia announces that it has completed the transaction to outsource its Symbian software development and support activities to Accenture.

Nokia to cut 3500 more Jobs, Closes Romania Factory

The mobile giant Nokia today announced that it will cut around 3,500 jobs in its manufacturing and will close its manufacturing facility in Cluj, Romania by the end of year 2011.

Update: Symbian Anna update coming by the end of August 2011!

Today at the Nokia Connection event in Singapore, Nokia announced that it will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with Symbian Anna in July. And the update will be available to preowners by the end of August.

Nokia to transfer Symbian software activities and 3,000 employees to Accenture

Nokia today announces its strategic collaboration with Accenture, transferring all its Symbian development activities and about 3,000 employees to Accenture. Nokia also outlined its plans to align its global workforce by cutting 4,000 jobs globally by the end of 2012..

Video: Nokia Pure Reversal – ‘Pure’ typeface by Dalton Maag

Nokia recently introduced its new typeface Pure, developed with Swiss designer Bruno Maag of Dalton Maag, Pure aims to “reinvent & revitalise” the brand. To celebrate this event, Nokia commissioned Build to produce an online film documenting the work of Matt McKenzie of Paekakariki Press asked to create a wooden craft of typography. Check out the video after break.
