WhatsApp recently added a new ‘Push-to-Talk Voice Messaging’ feature to its app on all platforms, including Nokia S40, Symbian, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. Well, the company has now released new version of its apps for Nokia S40 and Symbian smartphones. No official changelog has been released, but you can expect some normal under-the-hood improvements with the update.
Whatsapp for for Nokia S40 and Symbian smartphones is updated to v2.11.1 and v2.11.75 respectively. As always no changelog has been released. If you find anything new in this update, please do let us know in your comments. Here is how to use the newly introduced ‘Push-to-Talk Voice Messaging’ feature on S40 and S60 phones.
To use Voice Messaging, simply tap and hold on the Voice Message button:
- For touch screen phones, the Voice Messaging button is a microphone that replaces the send button on the chat screen.
- For full keyboard phones, the Voice Messaging button is center button.
If you want to cancel a Voice Message, after you release the recording button:
- On Nokia S60 phones: Click on the End Call button, or Slide on the screen if you have a touchscreen phone.
- On Nokia S40 phones: You can tap/press the icon to cancel the message
